Climate
There are three seasons in northern, northeastern, central, and eastern Thailand and two in southern Thailand. The cool season (November to February), the hot season (March to May), and the rainy season (June to October), though downpours very seldom last more than a couple of hours.

Vaccinations for Thailand
It's advisable to get vaccinations for hepatitis A (and possibly B), polio, rabies, typhoid and tuberculosis, but those for cholera are reputedly ineffective, even counter-productive. If you do decide to have several injections, plan your course at least four weeks in advance.

Passports and Visas
Owing to frequent changes to passport and visa regulations, travelers are advised to check current regulations with the relevant Consulate (or Consular section at Embassy) prior to travel.

Thailand Transport
The domestic arm of Thai Airways operates a network of daily flights to 21 of Thailand's major towns aboard a fleet of 737s, 777's and Airbuses. Thai Airways offers a "Discover Thailand" visitor's pass, allowing four domestic flights, for about US$250. Certain conditions apply, notably that this pass must be purchased outside Thailand.

Do's and Dont's
Thais don't normally shake hands when they greet one another, but instead press the palms together in a prayer-like gesture called a wai. Generally a younger person wais an elder, who returns it.

Travel Tips
Foreign visitors may bring in and unlimited amount for Thai currency. For travelers leaving Thailand, both Thais and foreign, the maximum amount permitted to take out without prior authorization is 50,000 Baht per person or, of they are going to one of Thailand’s neighboring countries, 500,000 Baht per person.
